grazie wirtti & matías arriazu
The duo formed by the Brazilian singer Grazie Wirtti and the Argentine guitarist Matías Arriazu brings a contemporary vision of Brazilian and Latin American music. Their new album “Caçador de Infância,” produced by Egberto Gismonti and released by Carmo and ECM record labels, presents compositions by the duo and invites us to travel through a vast musical imaginary.
Grazie Wirtti is a powerful singer with a biography that includes works alongside acclaimed artists in Brazilian music. She has partnered with Yamandu Costa, sang with Elza Soares, Diogo Nogueira, and was part of Egberto Gismonti’s quartet, with whom she toured Brazil, Europe, and South America. Her first solo album, “Tunguele,” features Milton Nascimento as a special guest.
Matías Arriazu is a prominent guitarist and composer in the Argentine music scene. His unique sound on the eight-string guitar has earned him award nominations and performances at festivals in Japan, Europe, and South America. Matías has shared the stage with Argentine artists such as Mercedes Sosa, Liliana Herrero, Juan Falu, as well as with Brazilians like Yamandu Costa and Rogério Souza.
Nine years ago, Grazie Wirtti and Matías Arriazu started composing together. The guitarist composes the music and arrangements, while Grazie writes the lyrics and brings her interpretative strength to the songs. The duo was discovered by Egberto Gismonti, who invited them to perform at the Centro Cultural CCK in Buenos Aires and soon after proposed that they record in Rio de Janeiro under his musical direction.
Released in partnership by Carmo (Brazil) and ECM Records (Germany), the album “Caçador de Infância” is being physically distributed to 42 countries in Europe, Asia, and America and is available on all digital platforms through Universal Music.
